Recommended Learning Activities Week 9 Covid – 19 Closure

Hi all,

I hope you all had a nice relaxing Bank holiday weekend.  Hard to believe that we are already into the last month of what has been a very strange school year.  Who could have imagined that we would all be expert users of Zoom and all sorts of other online resources when we started the year in September.  It’s a credit to all the children ,and indeed their parents, that they have not let a little thing like a Global Pandemic get in the way of their learning.

Normally in June we start to ease of on the work as normally Sports days and school Tours and so much more takeover.  This year is going to be no different starting this week with ‘The Ballindaggin Bake Off.’ Make sure and get a picture of your creation sent to your teacher by this Friday to be in with a chance to win some prizes. We would also love to see pictures of what you are getting up to in the good weather so you can post on Twitter or send them directly to your teacher if you prefer. We have other activities planned for the next three weeks and I have no doubt the children will enjoy the various activities the teachers have in store for them.  BUT we still have a little work to complete this week and I’m confident the kids will continue to give 100% in all their assigned work.

Again, feel free to pick and choose from the assigned work that has been sent out to you this morning and remember not to put yourself or the children under any pressure.  All the children in the country are in the same boat and we will hit the ground running in September.

Take care of each other, continue to stay safe and most of all try and enjoy the weather together,

Mr. Mc Donald

Hi all,

I hope everyone is keeping well.  Time is flying by and it is hard to believe that we are almost into the month of June. All our staff are delighted to see the engagement of the kids during the past week.  The teachers love to see all the hard work you are doing so please keep sending in the photos of your work and what you are getting up to.

I know that some of you may be struggling to keep children motivated the longer this goes on and especially with the nice weather outside. The policy in our school is that we do not assign homework during the month of June due to the good weather and to allow children to get outside and enjoy it. Also during the month of June in school we place more emphasis on getting outside to do nature walks, outdoor lessons, sports days, school tours etc. With this in mind. It is our intention to place a greater emphasis on different topics in the coming weeks such as School Tour Week and sports day/week which we hope will help in improving motivation levels for the kids.

The suggested work for the coming week is below and as usual do not feel under any obligation to complete all of it.  Next weekend is the June Bank Holiday so there will be no work next Monday.

Looking forward to seeing more great work this week,

Conor Mc Donald
