Girls and boys that attend St. Colman’s NS Ballindaggin get the chance to participate in The Rackard League hurling, football and camogie competitions each year.

We join up with Caim NS and Kiltealy NS to represent the parish in the main Rackard League competitions. Generally it is boys and girls from 5th and 6th class that take part at this level.

Depending on the levels of interest each year the school may also enter the Rackard League mini 7’s football, hurling and camogie competitions. This is a 7 aside tournament and gives the children a chance to don their school jersey and represent St. Colman’s NS.

Boys and girls from 5th/6th class also get the oppurtunity to participate in an annual 10 aside mixed football tournament against other local schools that is run in Coolree each year. This generally takes place in June and the emphasis is on fun and enjoyment.

Girls and boys in 3rd and 4th classes get the chance to represent the school in the Rackard League football and hurling skills competitions and also participate in local GAA blitzes that are run by the Wexford GAA Coaching Office.

Every child in the school is welcome to attend Hurling 365 that takes place every Wednesday morning from 8.20am – 8.50am in the hall. The focus at these sessions is on developing Fundamental Movement Skills, fun, maximum active participation and enjoyment.

Each year children from different classes are provided with 8 weeks of football and 8 weeks of hurling coaching in conjunction with Wexford GAA. Again the focus is on the development of Fundamental Movement Skills, fun and active participation. The chance to take part in these sessions depends on the size of each individual class and the classes that take part vary from year to year. This school year children from JI, SI, 3rd and 4th class are availing of the coaching.
