Wellbeing Week

As you may already know next week is Wellbeing Week in our school.

Our Wellbeing Committee which is made up of pupils, parents and staff members have organised a range of activities for next week that focus on wellbeing.

We are also launching our Healthy Eating Policy as part of Wellbeing Week and will be encouraging children to eat healthily through fruit tasting and smoothie making sessions as well as lessons on the food pyramid.

To encourage healthy eating we will be rewarding children for healthy lunches from next week on.

We ask that children do not bring the following to school:

Snacks known to be high in sugar, saturated fat, salt, additives and preservatives, including the following:

  • Crisps (including crisp-style snacks)
  • Fizzy drinks (including fizzy fruit-flavoured water, juices, etc)
  • Sweets or bars
  • Cake/s
  • Buns
  • Chocolate biscuits/bars
  • Cereal bars (these can often contain as much sugar as chocolate bars)
  • Chewing gum
  • Fruit winders

As always, our school Twitter page will have photos of some of the weeks activities.

World Book Day

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Thursday March 2nd 2023 is World Book Day.

That is the Thursday we return after mid-term.

We will be celebrating all things books in school for World Book Day and we encourage all of our pupils to dress up as a character from their favourite book and bring their book to school if they so wish.

We will be organising paired reading, book quizzes and more.

There will be book vouchers given out to each child and book related prizes on the day.

Kind regards,

Conor Mc Donald

School Extension

Dear Parent/Guardian,

As many of you are aware our school was approved to build two additional classrooms along with an assisted WC a number of years ago.

Last December you received a notice via Aladdin to inform you that the project had moved into the tender process.

Today we were delighted to receive the news from the Department of Education that our tender has been approved and our school building project will get up and running as soon as possible.

When the contractor and design team have a start date confirmed we will let you know.

The plans for the new part of our school can now be viewed by clicking on the ‘New School Plans’ tab above.
